I've never heard a musician who hasn't taught me something, but if I had to single out one person who had influenced me, it would be my Dad, Rex Moss.
Since the age of four I've been performing music in one form or another, I've played in loads of bands in countless situations to many people and am very lucky to have done so.
In the autumn of 2006 I got a phone call from someone had seen my website and wanted a bass player for their band. I get these sort of calls quite a lot but this one was different, rather than the usual demands & conditions that generaly come with these requests, I was asked simply to come along to a rehearsal and if I really didn't suit me, it wouldn't be a problem. I'd just had my first encounter with Martin Loft.
The rehearsal went well:- what struck me was just how good the songwriting was. Several rehearsals later I asked Nick what the band name was, everyone looked a bit sheepish and Nick muttered "Billy Wears Dresses". For about an hour I didn't get it, then I began to realise it's genius, personified in the cartoon Billy character. I've played with some incredible musicians in my career, but Billy has space and artistic freedom that is unique and to be part of it is a great privalidge.
There has been great highs & lows over the years, some amazing gigs and fun studio sessions, but instead of boring you with dates and locations, I'll tell you about the time that really sums up the Billy experiance.

But the best part of the day was the car journey, we laughed and joked until our sides hurt and there was an amazing feeling of camaraderie and friendship between the four of us.
That is what Billy Wears Dresses has always been about and should always remain so.
